Client: Martin & Son Farms
Scope: Brand Identity Development & Mural Design
Objective: Establish a cohesive brand identity that reflects the farm’s values—faith, family, and growth—before designing a large-scale mural.
Martin & Sons reached out with a clear vision—or so they thought.
“I want a mural,” they said. “Something big. I have a logo.”
“Great!” I replied. “What are you thinking?”
Well, they paused. “...just the logo.”
I imagined the 12x32 ft barn with a single logo splashed across it. That’s a mighty big logo.
“What does your farm stand for?”
“What’s your mission?”
“Do you have any other brand assets besides the logo?”
“Do you have an illustration style or any other brand assets?”
Silence.
That’s when we both realized—before we could create a mural, we needed to create a brand story for the farm.
Built on a foundation of faith, family, love, and kindness, their farm has always represented more than just hard work—it’s been a place where biblical principles are lived out and shared. Their mission went beyond the daily tasks of farming; it was about cultivating a lasting legacy rooted in the values of perseverance, faith, love, kindness, and doing the hard things. The farm was not only about growth in the fields, but also in character and spirit. To truly honor this legacy, their brand needed more than a single image—it required a cohesive identity that reflected their commitment to family, faith, love, kindness, and hard work—a unified story that could carry their mission forward and resonate with those who share these core values.
Before we could paint the barn, we had to paint the full picture of who they were.
-A color palette that reflected their values—earthy, warm, and welcoming.
-A custom illustration style that told their story visually.
-A cohesive brand identity that could be used across social media, signage, and promotions.
Now, everything tied together—not just for the mural, but for their entire brand.
With the brand identity in place, the mural finally had direction.
- Represents faith, family, and growth.
- Captures the essence of their farm’s story.
- Serves as a landmark and a marketing tool for years to come.
Thanks to their newfound clarity, they now have a defined brand that goes beyond just a logo—it’s a reflection of their mission and values. With consistency across their marketing materials, every piece now aligns with their core message, creating a unified experience for their customers. The mural, still in the process of being painted, is more than just decoration; it’s a powerful statement of their story and purpose. Although they’re currently on hold with business as family always comes first, stay tuned for what’s to come as they continue to grow their legacy and bring their vision to life.
Branding isn’t about making something look pretty—it’s about creating something meaningful. Before you can advertise, market, or even paint a mural, you have to know your story. Now, Martin & Son Farms has everything they need to share theirs—with confidence.
